on the results of the work of the scientific adviser Kolomeitsev GS at the Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine.

According to the agreement with the chief ecologist of the Cherepovets metallurgical plant, VA Shatunin. in the period from 6th to 8th February 2012. At the plant, work was carried out on the impact on the air environment with the hardware complex "Volna".

The "Volna" complex was established in 1986 and has a state certificate of conformity.

This complex is used in agriculture to increase yields, improve quality of agricultural products, for pest control, as well as in livestock, poultry farming and timber processing industry.

Previously, we "conducted studies and experiments to provide a continuous impact on the environment. As a result of these studies, a frequency-free frequency range for air and water purification was determined and experimentally tested.

Prior to the start of work, the emission situation was characterized by a powerful, up to a few tens of kilometers, a train of smoke from the pipes of the CHPP, converter shop, coke oven shop and blast furnace, which had a color from brown at the beginning of the plume, to a dark gray and whitish at the end.

Works were carried out on February 7 and 8 in the period from 9.00 to 16.00 with a periodic including the equipment of the "Volna" complex for 135 minutes.

During the operation of the equipment visually and using the camera, the following changes:

a) there was a gradual decrease in the plume at each complex exposure.

b) the color of the smoke varied from dark brown to light brown and to whitish (plot 2 foundry shop), dark gray color turned into light gray and then into whitish (plot 3 coke chemistry).

c) Changes in the color of the smoke from red to whitish were observed.

d) a pronounced layer-by-layer separation of the smoke components began to occur: at the bottom parts of the dark color quickly turned into light with a disappearance, the top of the white color quickly dissolved along the length of the smoke plume.

e) during the first day of treatment, the transparency of the atmosphere increased and the odors decreased in the area of the coke oven shop and converter shop.

Actual emissions of pollutants from OAO Severstal into the atmosphere are more than 80 chemical substances of organic and inorganic composition of steelmaking and by-product coke production.

Conditionally these substances can be divided into 4 groups: paramagnetics, diamagnetics, ferromagnetics and steam-water dipoles.

The nme of these groups of substances is related to how these substances behave in the presence a weak magnetic field in the state of a smoke-vapor gas mixture (paramagnets are drawn in the direction of the magnetic field, diamagnets are pushed out of the magnetic field, dipoles form clusters around positively and negatively charged particles (ions).

 

It is these properties of a multicomponent mixture of substances formed in the manufacturing process and contained in the emissions, were used for their subsequent mixing with atmospheric air and subsequent effective (active) separation. In this way in steelmaking and by-product coke production, a multi-component "smoke-steam gas mixture ", on a relatively short run, is divided into a light part (pairs) and a dark part (concentrated smoke).

The light part (steam), mixing with atmospheric air, "dissolves" to the level of natural moisture, and the dark part (smoke) is intensely deposited on the short shoulder and does not pollute the territory at a remote distance.

Another part of the solid particles remains (precipitated) in the furnaces and passes into the slag, which reduces concentration of emissions from pipes.

Conclusions:

The results of the conducted work convincingly demonstrated the possibility using the equipment of the "Volna" complex for environmental cleaning air basin above the Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine.
